In addition to hot mix asphalt, Kokosing Materials is capable of producing warm mix asphalt at all of their plant locations. Warm mix asphalt is the generic term for a variety of technologies that allow the producers of hot mix asphalt material to lower the temperature at which the material is mixed and placed on the job. Reductions of 50 degrees Fahrenheit and higher have been documented. Such drastic reductions have the benefit of cutting fuel consumption. In addition, engineering benefits include better compaction on the job, the ability to haul asphalt mix for longer distances, and extending the paving season by using this technology.
