Construction of the West Columbus Local Protection Project, commonly known as the Franklinton Floodwall, began in 1993. The joint City/Federal Project took nearly ten years to complete and cost over $120 million dollars. The floodwall provides seven miles of protection, of which Kokosing completed approximately 80% of the construction work. WHY IT MATTERS Kokosing’s experience on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers local flood protection projects demonstrates our ability to self-perform many of the procedures needed to construct large, complex civil projects.
